Unfinished Business:
Building:
Shelves:
Most new shelves are up and filled.
Still waiting for some items to be shipped.
Water:
Jade’s office, in basement, and Community Room have some water.
Building Reserve Fund can be used to fix roof over Community room.
This will cost $46,899. Other areas are being worked on. The west
entrance will have to be closed for a time while the roof work is being
done. There is no date for this yet.
USDA Loan: See handout
The city will apply for the loan. The city has reserved $3 million for the
library expansion. We have already spent about $1/2 million for the
architect and other work. The Foundation Board will be asked to start
fund raising.
Book Mobile:
The city applied for a loan for vehicle replacement. They did not get it.
They will apply again next time.
The Book Mobile will go to the Slope County Fair.
It went to Touch a Truck Day. 5000 attended.
Summer Reading: See Handout.
May 28: Incredible growth over last year.
New Business:
Staff Training Day:
August 19, 2022

United for Libraries:
This is training material to support boards. ND provides free access. Members are
encouraged to sign up for an account. We will view short videos at future meetings.
Annual Budget Process: See Handout
This is an on-going process. Some information has been submitted to the city
already. Raises for staff and another full time librarian position (teen/young adult)
have been requested.
Library Services Policy: See Handout
See yellow high-lighted passages. Motion to make changes as indicated.
Approved MSP.
Library Director Search Process:
Rita Ennen has resigned as library director. She will be here until December.
The ad and job description will be updated and should be out soon. The ideal plan
is to have a new person hired so there is some overlap with Rita for training
purposes. Rita will also ask the city to use a librarian search consultant.
Next Meeting: August 9, 2022 4:00
Adjourned 5:06 PM
