Library patrons and hours
 

  • There were 86,985 visits to the main library.
  • There were 11,621 registered card holders or just over 36% of the 2017 population estimate* of the DAPL's service area are registered borrowers.
  • The bookmobile made 333 stops while covering 14,416 miles.
  • Library services were provided for a total of 5275 hours between 3 different locations.

Library Foundation

The Dickinson Area Public Library Foundation spent 2018 diligently working on the beginning planning phases of a large expansion and renovation of the library.  A building committee was appointed and Bartlett & West was chosen to do a study and analysis of the current library building and conceptual design drawings for the expansion. 

 

The Foundation also provided matching funds for a grant from the Stark Development Corporation to provide benches and planters on the north side of the library around the Carnegie entrance.

Friends of the Library Highlights

Fundraising for the MakerSpace STEAM program

  • Received $400 grant from the Dickinson Area Community Foundation

  • Donation of $1000 from the Dickinson Optimist Club

  • Initiated a Family Fare Receipt drive

     

Volunteering at Library programs

  • Rock painting activity at the Summer Reading program kick-off

  • Scavenger hunt at bookstore during Summer Reading program

  • Volunteers to help with reading program sign-up

  • Provided bookstore coupons as prizes

     

Membership and Book Sales
